A Bright Summer Diary / 公园日记 (Gongyuan riji) / Svetel poletni dnevnik
Lei Lei (See - Ray Studio Productions)
2020, China, 27'35''
This project grew out of an old photograph of the artist at Lushan Mountain in 1988. There’s nothing of the real Lushan in the photograph, taken in a photo studio. Three-year-old Lei Lei and his mother are sitting in a cardboard car in a reconstituted Chinese traditional landscape. The artist’s nostalgia serves as the starting point of a quest for truth regarding history, family, and personal identity.
Projekt je nastal na podlagi stare fotografije umetnika na gori Lushan leta 1988. Na fotografiji, posneti v studiu, ni niti kančka prave gore Lushan. Triletni Lei Lei in njegova mama sedita v kartonastem avtu v rekonstruirani tradicionalni kitajski pokrajini. Umetnikova nostalgija je izhodišče iskanja resnice o zgodovini, družini in osebni identiteti.
