You are kindly invited to a screening of outstanding animations from the StopTrik 2020 International Film Festival and a lecture on Maribor's cinematic past by Simon Žlahtič. See you on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 8 pm in the park next to the Museum of National Liberation Maribor.

In 1896, in the Götz pub (today's Union Hall), moving images were shown for the first time in front of the Maribor audience. Since then in Maribor many cinemas have opened and closed, despite the lack of a city cinema, the film community in Maribor is still extremely lively today.

With a short introductory lecture on the history of cinematography in Maribor we begin the cycle of projections that will take place in places where cinematic performances once glowed. We will be introduced to the topic by Simon Žlahtič, art historian and curator, followed by a screening of selected animated films from the StopTrik International Film Festival.

Program:
20.00 Lecture on the cinematic past, Simon Žlahtič
20.45 break
21.00 Screening of animated films
