V gozdu - special prize for a group animation
We have the results for Živel strip! Živela animacija! 21 (Long live comic book! Long live animation! 21). That is an annual competition for comics and animation for students from Slovenia and Furlanija - Julijska krajina which has been organized by the Italian association Viva Comix and the editorial office of the magazin Stripburger which is being published by Forum Ljubljana.
The purpose of this competition is to encourage creativity of comics and also reading and creating animations. They are also trying to popularize the expression of art.
For this year’s edition they showed the artistic works and characters of Gašper Rus and Gabriella Giandelli in order to give participants inspiration. The participants of the open call could also create art freely without a specific topic in mind.
The animated film V gozdu (In the forest) that was made on a children’s workshop at the 10th StopTrik festival was given a special prize for a group animation!
The jury: Gašper Rus (author), Katerina Mirović (Stripburger), Andreja Goetz (Slon) and Allessandro De loannon and Paola Bristot (association Vivacomix). The jury has written:
“A pretty abstract animated film suitable for any festival of animated films.”
We are of course very proud of this.:).
The creators of the animated film are Mija Štraus, Eva Sarnic, Iva Mirt, Nadia Azhdari, Loti Kostanjevec, Lana Razboršek in Gal Razboršek, under the mentorship of Anka Kočevar, Brina Fekonja and Nika Plevnik.

Young animators shall receive awards in a form of a DVD with the Slon animations. They get to go to a workshop of animation organized by Slon and also they shall receive accreditation for the Animateka festival and a flipbook. All of the participants shall also be gifted a brand new mini comic book Prazgodovinska izmena. Also all of the films will be shown at the International day of the animated films at the Slovenska kinoteka in Ljubljana.
