In an industry obsessed with the superficial, it's not easy being an aging movie star. It’s even harder when you’e also a stop-motion animated skeleton monster. Phil used to be a cutting edge special effect. As a stop-motion animated skeleton from the 1960s, modern movie studios just aren't hiring him to star in blockbusters anymore. Refusing to succumb to his own irrelevance, Phil takes drastic measures when he learns the film for which he was created is being rebooted without him.

Michael Shanks

Michael’s first ever foray into filmmaking took the grand prize at the 2008 Escapist Film Festival. Since then, he’s won various awards for his work in Music Videos, from directing clips of his own Band to more recent work with artists such as Guy Pearce. He wrote & directed the half hour fantasy comedy series, The Wizards of Aus, which screened on SBS in Australia. His inventive sci- fi short film Time Trap has been viewed 2.7 million times on YouTube and is being turned into a feature by Hopscotch and eOne. His latest short film, Rebooted, tells the story of a washed up, stop- motion animated skeleton who finds out his most famous work is being rebooted without him.
