Phase 1
22. 9. 2023, online
The first phase will be a critical literacy workshop, where participants will deconstruct audiovisual texts through critical discursive analysis, looking for hidden meanings and missing voices in them. The workshop will be led by the festival producers Kaja Fiedler and Urška Breznik.
Phase 2
24. 9. - 26. 9. 2023, live
The second phase will be script writing: this phase is dedicated to the conceptualisation of the film's themes, content and further strategies for the representation of the stories. They will develop a script or sequences of scripts, learn about the role of textual narratives in visual narratives and story boarding. The workshop will be led by film critic, educator and editor-in-chief of Zippy Frames Vassiliss Kroustaliss and animator Tal Kantor.
Phase 3
27. 9. - 1. 10. 2023, live
The third phase will be a stop-animation workshop with animator Piotr Chmielewski, last year's recipient of several special mentions and awards from curators and producers at StopTrik as well as other animation festivals for his exceptional stop animation Crab. With a prepared script, the participants will start working on storyboards and animatics, getting acquainted with different processes and creative solutions in stop motion animation. They will produce stop-motion animations that will be presented at the closing ceremony of the festival.
