Exhibition: Andrej Štular: Doppelgänger

Andrej Štular is a Slovenian artist who is active in various artistic fields. His work is an interplay between illustration, comics, painting, sculpture, photography, film, and puppet and set design. The award-winning artist has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and festivals in Slovenia and abroad. The collaboration with the StopTrik festival was sealed during his recent residency at the GuestRoomMaribor residency programme, and the result will be an installation in the foyer of the festival’s projection hall. Štular’s work is characterised by found objects, to which he gives a new meaning and integrates them into new compositions in a playful and humorous way. In this process, the objects don’t serve their original purpose, but are transformed into new entities during the process of meaningful placement.
