Imagining the Author: Hugo Covarrubias

Hugo Covarrubias is a Chilean stop motion filmmaker, audiovisual designer and producer. He is a digital animation lecturer at the Universidad Mayor in Providencia, a founder of the animation studio Zumbástico Studios as well as a theater and studio company Maleza. The film Bestia (2021) was a ground-breaking one in Covarrubias' career that won the major prizes of the 2021 season and received a nomination for Oscar Academy Awards 2022.
